Located in downtown Stratford The Parlour Inn, originally called The Mansion House, was built in 1871 to serve the Grand Trunk Railway and repair facility nearby. Back then, it consisted of 36 guestrooms and a dining room.
At the time, the hotel had a special ladies waiting room where women were required to wait while their husbands finished business and social meetings. We’ve come a long way baby!
Since then, The Parlour Inn has undergone many incarnations, but most recently, we have been a popular hotel and restaurant catering to locals and of course, our regular Festival Theatre goers! The restaurant is decorated with classic features such as beautiful woodwork, tin ceilings and stained glass windows, all of which are a nod to our 19th century origins.
In keeping with the character of the original building but with a modern touch, the guestrooms are designed with unique layouts, queen and king sized beds, whirlpool bathtubs and luxurious bedding.
The Parlour Inn is located just one block from the Avon Theatre and Studio Theatres, two of four stages of the Stratford Shakespeare Festival.
All of the rooms at The Parlour Inn can be booked in advance when planning for a wedding, special meeting and event. Contact The Parlour Inn today for advance booking options.
